🏐 Thursday open nets! Along side the league so long as we don't run out of room (getting close) we will have at least one open net for all to come and connect on the court

This league is all about competition, connection, and camaraderie—a chance for couples, friends, and fierce competitors to battle it out while making new friendships along the way! Some of our rules may differ from what you're used to, as HDVA is bringing widely accepted grass volleyball rules to Bend.

League Time Slots:

Check-in 5:45 PM

6:00 PM -- 6:45 PM

6:50 PM – 7:35 PM

7:40 PM – 8:25 PM

8:30 PM -- 9:15 PM

To keep things running smoothly, we’ve built in a 5-minute break between time slots. Please help us stay on schedule so all matches finish at a reasonable time.

What’s Included in the League?

🏐 Please note this is an on-going league | This league has already started, depending on the week we are in we may still be accepting registrations

🏐 9 Weeks of Play

🏐 7 Weeks of League Matches (Two 45-minute matches per week); or 12 total time slots (weather dependent)

🏐 Best-of-3 Format:

• Sets 1 & 2 to 21 (cap at 23)

• Set 3 to 15 (cap at 17)

• Matches are time-dependent—if your slot ends, report the last score to the league director.

• Scores not recorded at the end of the evening on VolleyballLife will result in a 21-19, 19-21, 5-5 split.

🏐 Week 8 & 9: Tournament Night! 🏆 (League Champions will be crowned! Tournament format & details will be released later)

Team Composition:

• Teams must always have 1 girl on the court at all times (this is a minimum, there may be more than 1 female on the court as well)

• Teams must rotate servers, but are not required to rotate position on the court.

  
  

Divisions:

A Division (Upper):

• Upper division qualifies as individuals BB+. This division will be a competitive league for experienced players who have played a time or two. Typical expectations from these players are to make almost 100% serves, reasonably and accurately control the ball, run an organized team composition and rally on most volleys.

B Division (Lower):

• Lower division qualifies as individuals who may be newer to the games, or returning from a hiatus. This division will be more social and lax on the rules of volleyball or set-up as to promote learning and exposure to the organized rules of volleyball.

League Rules

✅ No open-hand serve receive unless clean (no double, no lift, spin can be used as an indicator) Recreational/Social this rule is disregarded

✅ Finger-tip setting must be clean (No doubles or lifts!) Setting will vary based on league level Recreational/Social this rule is disregarded

✅ Hard-driven balls may be doubled on first contact (Only if it’s a reaction play with downward trajectory!) Recreational/Social this rule is disregarded

✅ Hand setting over the net must follow hip/shoulder alignment We will try to encourage this rule but will not result in a fault in Social/Recreational

✅ No net violations—any contact with the net is a fault!

✅ No “girl touch” rule—just play!

✅ Official rules follow the USAV Beach Volleyball Rule Book

✅ Winning teams must record scores on VolleyballLife under their match listing

VolleyballLife Registration Tips

If you're new to High Desert Volleyball, registering on VolleyballLife can take some getting used to. Here's what we recommend:

1️⃣ Register your team and manually enter player names & emails

2️⃣ Each player must create a VolleyballLife account and claim their account to make for easier registration in the future.
