Meet the Board
Founder and President
Justin Croteau
Moving to Bend in 2023 and quickly found what he has always appreciated about volleyball: its ability to create connection, friendship, and community almost anywhere.
Justin brings a diverse background in leadership, business, aviation, and community building. He currently serves as Director of Customer
Support at Epic Aircraft and has prior experience as a small business owner, commercial pilot, and U.S. Air Force SERE Instructor. Across those roles, he has developed a strong foundation in operations, business development, team building, project management, logistics, and bringing people together around a shared mission.
Justin first started playing volleyball in college at Penn State University and quickly saw how the sport could break down barriers and connect people who may have otherwise never crossed paths. That belief is central to HDVA’s mission.
Through HDVA, Justin is focused on creating more than opportunity to play. His goal is to help build a volleyball community where people feel welcomed, supported, challenged, and connected both on and off the court.
Treasurer
Katie Fox
Nine plus years ago, Katie Fox picked up volleyball in Central Oregon with barely any experience and fell in love with the game. It’s since become a big part of her life, from competing on the court to helping lead HDVA’s nonprofit board.
By day, Katie is an Originating Branch Manager at CrossCountry Mortgage in Bend, bringing the same financial precision to her role as Treasurer.
She lives in Bend with her husband Sam and two pups and spends her free time paddle boarding, mountain biking, and playing volleyball. She’s grateful for the chance to give back to the sport that gave her so much.
Court Committee
Jack Jackson
Jake has been a passionate member of the Bend volleyball community since 2014. He coached youth club volleyball for 2 years and now he is focused on growing the Bend community.

Meeting minutes summarize the topics discussed, decisions made, and action items from each HDVA board meeting. Approved minutes are posted here for transparency and organizational recordkeeping.

The board approved the previous meeting minutes and shared updates from each committee. Progress was made on the court development project, website improvements, merchandise planning, fundraising initiatives, and upcoming events. Marketing is finalizing new HDVA, Grass League, and Seaside shirt designs while expanding committee membership and vendor contacts.

The board shared updates on court development, upcoming events, and marketing initiatives. The Court Committee reported positive progress following the Bend Park & Recreation District meeting and outlined next steps for grants and community support. The Event Committee reviewed upcoming tournaments and plans to increase participation, while Marketing discussed new signage, merchandise, and promotional efforts. Action items focused on outreach, partnerships, and tournament promotion.
